“Today we have 24 carriers around the world that provide LTE support for iPhone 5. Those are in countries like the US, Korea, the UK, Germany, Canada Japan, Australia and a few others,” the Apple chief said.

Tim Cook specifically mentioned the next carriers that will be LTE/4G activated, these are the telcos in countries like Italy, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Philippines, plus several more middle eastern countries.
“Next week,” he added, “we’re adding 36 more carriers for LTE support. These carriers will be in countries that we are not currently supporting LTE.” [via]
Apple iPhone 5 landed officially in the Philippines in December 14. Both Smart and Globe have released their postpaid and prepaid plans for the iPhone 5 but did not confirm whether the device is LTE enabled or not.
Smart and Globe have both LTE infrastructures in limited areas in the country mostly in Metro Manila.
