LG Q8 quietly announced, a premium mid-range phone with IP67 certification

LG Q8 is now official, and it’s already listed in the company’s Italian website. It is subsequently added under the new Q series, after the LG Q6 family premiered earlier this month. Technically, it is a flagship premium compact smartphone due to its smaller 5.2-inch display with 64-bit Kryo Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, and sometimes, the handset is mistakenly called the V20 mini. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

At the right side of the front camera lies the secondary assistant screen with 160 x 1040 resolution, and it helps to see the users’ quick tools like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The other panels: App shortcuts, Recent apps, music controls and the phone’s owner signature name can swipe horizontally.

Adding the protection of the phone is the IP67 certification for water and dust resistant along its metal body. A 16-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel lens completes the dual camera setup at the back, and has an ultra wide angle sensors. Further, a 5-megapixel front camera also has a wide-angle lens. Both the front and back cameras are useful for shooting panorama mode and selfie groups.

For better multimedia experience, the company provides Hi-Fi quad DAC on audio that will provide stabilization. Other features: a decent 32GB storage with large 4GB RAM. There’s a microSD for storage expansion that supports up to 2TB. Connectivity includes a USB-Type C connector for fast transferring of files, dual-band Wifi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, infrared port which the phone acts as a universal remote control, NFC, GPS and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Price and availability remains unknown as of today, but the company is expected to reveal by the end of the month. This could be an alternative to those consumer who likes to use a compact smartphone with stellar features and performance.
