PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and Cignal TV have pledged their support for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, which will be hosted solely by the Philippines.
PLDT, the country’s biggest telecommunications network, will serve as the official broadband partner for the tournament scheduled from September 12 to 28, 2025. Meanwhile, Cignal TV, the pay TV division of the MediaQuest Group, will be the official broadcaster of the prestigious volleyball event.
The Philippines has the distinction of being the inaugural sole host nation for the largest men’s volleyball tournament globally. This upcoming event will also mark the grandest FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship to date, with an expanded format accommodating 32 teams. Over the past few years, the sport has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity within the Philippines, with fervent supporters backing fiercely competitive leagues like Spikers’ Turf, Premier Volleyball League (PVL), and Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League.
The Philippine men’s national volleyball team will kick off their preparations by conducting a thorough selection process to form the player pool and introducing a new team name. In addition to backing the national team, PLDT played a crucial role as a partner in the successful staging of the 2023 Volleyball Nations League in Manila.
