Hassle-Proof Your Shooting Experience: The New Full HD HDR-GWP88 Projector Handycam by Sony
Dubbed as the “4-Proof Handycam,” Sony guarantees that their new Full HD HDR-GWP88 Projector Handycam would be video-perfect for the daring traveler. Sony unboxed it before the media and tech bloggers yesterday, June 27, 2013, Thursday at SM Megamall Cyberzone.
Filipino-Australian surfer Luke Landrigan attests that this is one tough Handycam that you can drive to the edge figuratively and literally.
It’s waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and freezeproof! (Try saying that fast in one breath many times while you do tunnel surfing!) That’s why Landrigan enjoyed it immensely while coaching surfers as Head Surf Instructor at the Billabong San Juan Surf School and Surf Shop in San Juan, La Union. Sony challenged Landrigan to push it to the extremes. And push was what Landrigan exactly did with the Handycam. He surfed, dived and swam with it in his hand. He even took selfie photos and videos with its self-record button, which Sony put alongside the lens on the front of the camera. (You can just flip the LCD swivel screen and press that button to take that selfie shot.) Using its 29.8mm high quality wide angle Sony G Lens, one can increase its magnification ratio of 0.8x to 0.9x underwater. Like a doting father to his four-year-old son Kai, Landrigan excitedly showed to the media the HD videos he took using the Handycam’s new built-in LED projector to project it to the wall.
So, since it can survive such extreme conditions, you could one more proof… it’s virtually hassle-proof! You could confidently hand it your kids to take videos and still photos while they frolic in the swimming pool without having to warn them to hold on to it tightly lest it falls in the water. It’s waterproof up to 30 feet. (Where was this Handycam when I did reef walking in Boracay? It would have been great to video that moment when I fed the fish!)
Since it’s shockproof, you need not worry when your kids drop it on the floor. It met the MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5-Shock standard, that is, Sony dropped this Handycam from a height of 1.5 meter (or five feet) above a 5 cm-thick plywood board (with the LCD screen closed, facing toward the camcorder body). Also, being dustproof, your kids can play in the sandbox with it. With its 16GB Internal Flash Memory, they could record up to 4 hours of fun time in full HD storage. Its 20.4MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor could capture crisp details even in dim-lit places. With its Optical Steady Shot in active mode, they could take smooth, shake-free shots even in speedy action shots during their playtime.
Thus, with the New Full HD HDR-GWP88 Projector Sony Handycam, you could now focus on creating memories with your family. Using its Event Browse feature, you could automatically group your videos by event. And, with its Highlight Playback function that automatically edits these events as playback-ready short movies, just press the button, sit back on the couch and enjoy a high-definition preview of your movies or your razor-sharp still photos (up to 20.4 megapixels) through its 3.0” Clear Photo LCD touch screen. Or, just as what Landrigan did, project it to the wall. No need to wire-connect it to your TV.
Hassle-Proof your shooting experience with the new Full HD HDR-GWP88 Projector Handycam, now orderable in any Sony designated shops at SRP P34,999. You would also get a free waterproof Sony Music Player!
