Sounds good news to me! For a long while I was waiting for the Viber app to be available on desktop, and like an answered prayer, it is now available for both Windows and Mac!
You can download it now right here, and start enjoying it in your desktop.
Here’s the catch though, Viber has to be present in your mobile devices still because it uses your mobile phone number for authentication. In the desktop environment, Viber lets you to the same stuff you do in your mobile app such as Free SMS, voice calls and now video calls.
All your messages in your phone are synchronized in your desktop app like if you delete a thread in your desktop it will be gone in your mobile device too! Now this is cool if you left your smartphone at home, right? You can still catch your friends on Viber on your desktop app!
What’s new with the mobile app?
Once you updated your mobile app, you can now send video messages, know if a contact is online or offline, it lets you add captions to photos and videos well. Plus, you get a cool UI redesigned of course!
