The “Go Global, Sell on Amazon” Amazon Global Selling Philippines Seller Summit, which was recently hosted online and drew over 2,000 SMEs, was a huge success (Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises). The goal of the event was to provide businesses in the Philippines with the necessary information, skills, and tools to take advantage of the growing cross-border e-commerce market.
The number of new Philippine sellers establishing their cross-border eCommerce business with Amazon climbed by more than 50% year over year, according to Amazon Global Selling’s presentation at the event.
The virtual event’s attendees learned about the newest ecommerce trends and heard directly from Philippine companies like Argon40, who used Amazon’s global platforms to export their products successfully. On top of that, participants got the opportunity to interact virtually with Amazon’s global sales team as well as take part in workshops and other training sessions on how to grow an online business.

The pandemic’s effects on the global industry are likely to last a long time. Worldwide, retail eCommerce sales continue to expand. In the next five years, cross-border eCommerce is expected to develop at a rate of 2.3 times that of total eCommerce, and the Philippines is on the same path.
B2C e-commerce export revenue gained by sellers in the Philippines is anticipated to be PHP8.7 billion (USD 179 million) in 2021, according to a research study conducted by (Alphabeta), with 25% of this going to MSMEs. Ecommerce export sales should expand at a rate of 9% per year to reach PHP 13.4 billion (USD 276 million) in five years, based on existing eCommerce adoption and export trends. The annual B2C e-commerce export revenue might reach PHP 26.9 billion (USD 555 million) in 2026 if MSMEs increased their e-commerce export rate.
Amazon has 21 locations around the world, ships to over 200 countries, and speaks 27 different languages. To manage customer inquiries, refunds, and returns for FBA orders, sellers can reach over 300 million active consumers, Amazon than 200 million prime members, and a world-class customer service network.
As part of the Philippine Sellers Summit, Amazon also showed off some of its new products that will assist Filipino firms expand internationally. Search Analytics Dashboard, which helps sellers better understand their customers’ interests and buying preferences, as well as the Global Listing page, which lets sellers to advertise their products in numerous international marketplaces with just one click, are two examples.
By increasing seller education and making educational tools and resources more accessible online, as well as supporting the development of a robust service provider network to further support sellers in areas like logistics and storage, account management, and advertising optimisation, Amazon Global Selling will strengthen support for Philippine sellers looking to sell globally and will double down efforts to prepare sellers for success.
Joint success with sellers
There are over two million Amazon third-party merchants in the world today, and their products account for more than half of all Amazon product sales. Sellers in the Philippines are also making substantial progress, particularly in the home, kitchen, and automotive categories.

Amazon has lowered the entry barriers to new markets, which is very helpful for small businesses and entrepreneurs. By fulfilling our orders through FBA, we worry less about the delivery of goods and warehouse management. This has allowed us to focus on designing good products and provide better service to customers.” said Joseph Zapanta, Co-founder of Argon40.
The Seller Ambassadors program was introduced by Amazon Global Selling in 2021, with the goal of connecting and bringing together merchants from the Philippines in order to create a learning community where experienced sellers may share their Amazon travels and success stories. It was also at the Seller Summit that Amazon Global Selling unveiled its first-ever “Community Driver” awards, which were created to recognize the efforts of Philippine businesses and sellers who have supported the Seller Ambassadors program and the Philippine selling community, thereby encouraging more sellers to start their own cross-border e-commerce ventures in the Philippines.
