Converge ICT to spend P1.8B for a Nationwide Fiber Network, targets completion by 2021

Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. (Converge) thru its President and CEO Dennis Uy recently announced that it has intensified efforts to lay the groundwork for a nationwide or pure fiber network.

The planned  Converge Nationwide Fiber Network will be made possible in partnership with Korean Telecoms (KT), SLI Fibernet Konstruk Corporation, and TE Connectivity Subcom.

“We have set our sights to bring the best internet connectivity by starting in Metro Manila and some key provinces in Luzon. By going nationwide, we can do more rollouts and more installations in other islands in the Philippines, helping more people connect with one another through our infrastructure,” Converge ICT President and CEO Dennis Uy addressed.

The ambitious nationwide rollout by Converge ICT is a five-year plan. While the network backbones are targeted to finish by 2021, the actual operation would undergo different phases.
