Elephone S1: the local brand killer

Elephone S1

The Elephone S1 could be the local brand killer, I kid you not.

This 5-inch smartphone with HD display will start selling in Lazada on April 18 for only P3,999.

Lazada should have lots of stocks during the start of the sale otherwise, they will be overwhelmed with customers who would like to get hold of the S1.

Here’s why.

Elephone S1 features

This 5-inch sub-P4k device is packed with features that are worth your every centavo.

  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Back to back glass & metal frame
  • Very slim and lightweight — 142.3g and 6.7mm
  • Sony IMX149 13MP rear camera
  • MT6580 Quad-core CPU and built-in Hexagon DSP core
  • 5-point multi-touch screen

The design and build will tell you that this guy is not just worth P3,999. They implemented a back to back glass with metal frame making the smartphone look premium.

The fingerprint scanner, which is usually found in the mid-range smartphone, is also included.

S1

The S1 is not the most powerful smartphone in this category, but Elephone concentrated in putting up a very good-looking device with its premium build.

The S1 when held in the hand feels good. The buttons are placed well in locations where it is easily accessible. The power button will remind you of a Xperia design but it is a little bit small making it a little bit hard to touch.

The initial report about the fingerprint is also positive, one of our tech blogger friends tested it earlier during the hands-on session and he found it responsive.

The back is protected by a Gorilla glass.

Elephone S1 will be available in Lazada for P3,999.
