Epson PH CIC Top 3 represent the country to regional exhibit

EPSON Philippines recently announced the top 3 winners of its 2011 Epson Color Imaging Contest. The winners were announced and presented at the SM Annex Event Area at the SM City North EDSA.

“Beautiful Philippines”, is the theme for this year’s contest which encouraged Filipino photography enthusiasts to explore the beauty of the Philippines from various aspects — human, landscape, nature and architecture. The 2011 CIC is also the first time that Epson utilized a new medium for the submission of entries and announcement of winners, all entries were posted in Facebook. As prolific users of the popular social platform, many Filipinos were able to easily share their captured moments via digital images. Facebook viewers from around the world were treated to amazing photos that featured scenic spots, and colorful cultural snapshots of the Philippines.

Randall Cipriano bagged the First Prize fo this years Epson CIC contest. He submitted a photo entitled “Light Unseen”, taken from the Triboa Bay Mangrove Park in Subic Bay, he shot it with a 720 nanometer wavelength filter that cuts off a lot of visible light but captures infrared light. The result was an ethereal take of an already remarkable Philippine scenic spot.

First Prize winner took home USD1,500 cash prize, an Epson Stylus Photo R1390 and an all-expense-paid holiday to Taipei from February 29 – March March 3, 2012 to attend the Epson Color Imaging Contest region-wide photo exhibit.

Second Prize went to Don Clavo De Comer and his theme was “Fishermen”. As Second prize winner he received USD1,000 and an EPSON L800 photo printer.

Third Prize went to Luisito G. Cleofas for “Majestic Mayon Volcano” entry.

The Third prize winner will took home USD500 and an Epson PictureMate PM310.

The photo that got the most “likes” on Facebook which became the Voter’s Choice Award  will also receive an Epson PictureMate PM310 and USD200.
