The successor to the most-awarded most successful LG G2 in 2013 is now official – the LG G3 has been publicly launched. And as I observed it, LG has continued its pattern of making the next generation model a little bit bigger. LG G3 is now 5.5-inch which is bigger by .3 inch compared to the first generation.
LG G3 has a redesigned back, it looks more elegant now.
As expected, the G3 has the industry’s latest hardware specs — Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, up to 2.5Ghz speed. Quad HD IPS display @ 2560 x 1440 screen resolution with 538ppi, two variants with 2G RAM and 3G RAM, Android 4.3 Kitkat out of the box. Wireless charging is finally introduced to LG G3. And since it is a little bit bigger, it is now heavier at 149grams (LG G2 is only 143grams).
The rest are just the same.
3,000mAH battery, 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera and it is now called by LG as Selfie camera. 4G/LTE and 1watt speakers with boost AMP technology.
Five colors will be available to suit different markets – Moon Violet, Shine Gold , Metallic Black, Silk White and Burgundy Red. The rumors were not true also that the G3 will come with a metallic body. LG confirms that it is only a matte texture with metallic skin to make it resistant to fingerprints.
LG also confirms that it is now available in South Korea today and will be offered to the rest of the market in the following weeks. Back here in PH, LG did not confirm when it would hit the local stores or telco.
