Areas of Pilot Operation

The pilot implementation will be in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.

Who can operate as Motorcycle Taxi

Letter H of the memo states that the participating riders are the 27,000 riders.

Also to make it clear, only Angkas riders can participate in this Pilot Operation. Here’s the explanation: the memo states that booking should be made thru the app.

It was mentioned again in Section 3 of the memorandum.

Angkas Twitter also confirmed this news by tweeting: guess who’s back?

Fare Matrix

According to the memorandum released by the DOTr, the flag down rate of a Motorcycle Taxi should be P50 for the first kilometer. An additional P10 to P15 per kilometer is added for succeeding distances. There is also the so-called dynamic charging of1.5x surge cap. These charges apply for Metro Manila only.

For Metro Cebu, flag down starts at P20 for the first kilometer, and then there is P16 to P20 per kilometer for succeeding kilometers.

The Fare Matrix is based on current Angkas rates, according to Mark de Leon, DOTr undersecretary.
