Design & Build

One of the best features I loved about the realme 10 is its build.

It is sleek and slim.

The realme 10 features the smallest profile in this number series, with a thickness of only 7.95 millimeters thanks to its Ultra-Slim Light Particle Design. This Light Particle finish reminds me of light that has been disseminated from distant starbursts. Depending on the angle of the light, the colors may appear white, blue, pink, orange, or purple.

The realme 10 provides a strong first impression despite being a compact smartphone. The realme 10 is a sleek smartphone that weighs only 179 grams and easily slips into a pocket thanks to its compact size.

And I’ll say it again in this article, the realme 10 is an aesthetically pleasing smartphone.

A beautiful design distinguishes the back of the realme 10. We find a primary 50-megapixel camera and a secondary 2-megapixel monochrome depth sensor with an LED light. When you place it on a flat table, the phone will wobble, but the free transparent case will save the day and fix this minor detail.

Additionally, the Realme 10 has a flat display which is protected by a Gorilla Glass 5, and a flat, matte-finished frame. The edges of the frame are slightly rounded at both ends, which makes it easier to hold.

Display

The vibrant AMOLED display, measuring in at 6.4 inches, takes up most of the front of the phone. The panel can be refreshed at 90 Hz, has a touch reaction time of 360 Hz, and can display the whole DCI-P3 color space.

The 16-megapixel camera sensor for the front-facing camera is located in the top left corner.

Other than the chin, the screen’s bezels are incredibly narrow. The AMOLED screen’s peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and a contrast ratio of 4,000,000:1 make for an excellent viewing experience. The viewing angle is superb, and it may even be used outside.

The slider controls the color temperature.

The audio on the realme 10 comes from a single bottom-mounted speaker that realme has outfitted with a 200% UltraBoom Speaker capable of reproducing high-resolution sound. The sound becomes noticeably louder and, depending on how sensitive your hearing is, it may even be intolerable if the high frequency is increased. Even without amplification, the sound has a midrange prominence that seems to dominate.

Performance

For casual users like me, the 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio G99 Processor coupled with an expandable 8GB RAM is already enough to be my daily driver.

I make short videos posted on my Tiktok and Facebook Reels, which are all edited on a mobile app called Capcut.

I shoot short 1080p video clips and take a lot of photos as I bring this phone to events.

The usual social media apps are always open all the same time — Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok. I also keep my cryptocurrency apps active.

Given all these, the realme 10 gave me no headache at all. Only smooth performance.

Software and UI

The phone has Android 12 and comes pre-installed with realme UI 3.0.

It is the third edition of the brand’s launcher, which features a more fluid and streamlined user interface, more extensive customization options, an enhanced privacy panel and privacy indicators, an enhanced floating window, and other enhancements and improvements.

You can customize the phone’s look and feel according to your own personality.

I personally liked the dark theme and everything set into the default settings.

The only thing that annoyed me was the excess applications. Numerous apps were pre-installed by realme, which bloated the phone. Nevertheless, you will have the option to uninstall it.

Camera

Took these photos using the automatic settings only. You be the judge.

The rear camera can record 1080p video at 30pfs and 60 frames per second. The front camera is limited to 1080p at 30 frames per second. Both cameras lack electronic stabilization.

The 1080p daytime video has an adequate resolution, appropriate sharpening, little noise, and true colors. The contrast was appealing to us, and the dynamic range was particularly impressive.

To summarize, I enjoyed shooting photos and recording videos with the realme 10 camera.

Battery

The realme 10 supports fast charging at 33W and ships with a power adapter and a charging cable with a 3A rating.

By default, you’ll be employing a charging optimization that minimizes battery drain by charging more slowly at night.

The included 33W charger was able to fully fill up the battery at around 75 minutes.

Final Thoughts

The realme 10 supports only 4G LTE, and has a downgraded camera when compared to the realme 9, no ultrawide camera and no 4K video recording.

However, I am personally impressed with its eye-candy design, the sharp 90Hz AMOLED display, and the premium look and feel.

Even though it has a few concerns, the realme 10 is a stylish smartphone that we can confidently recommend because of it’s local competitive pricing.

I love how it looks, and its sharp AMOLED screen, long battery life, fast charging speed, great performance, and even stable realme UI 3.0 all exceeded my expectations.

The realme 10 (8GB+128GB) costs just 12,999 and is now available on Lazada, Shopee, and realme’s official stores and dealers across the country.

The Realme 10 (8GB+256GB) will only cost 14,999, it will be sold in stores. From November 26 to December 2, 2022, you can start placing pre-orders! With every purchase, you’ll get a realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker worth 1,590 for FREE!
