The Headliner: Samsung Galaxy A27 5G

Samsung launched the Galaxy A27 5G in the Philippines on June 25, 2026. At ₱18,990 to ₱21,990, it’s one of the stronger mid-range options this year.

The phone carries a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh and an Infinity-O punch-hole, a visible improvement over its predecessor’s screen. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip pairs with faster RAM for smoother multitasking.

Samsung packed in several AI features: Circle to Search now handles multiple objects in a single image and lets you virtually try on clothes from results. Object Eraser 3 does cleaner photo cleanup, and the Voice Recorder app transcribes and translates in 22 languages. The phone supports Google Gemini, Perplexity, and a refreshed Bixby.

Samsung commits to 6 generations of Android OS and One UI updates, plus 6 years of security patches.

OPPO Reno16 Series: Global Launch, PH Date Pending

OPPO debuted the Reno16 Series globally on June 25, 2026, with K-pop group Babymonster headlining the event. OPPO Philippines has confirmed a local launch but hasn’t set a date.

Both the Reno16 and Reno16 Pro share a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with 3,600 nits peak brightness and a 6,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Both run Android 16 with ColorOS 16 and carry IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings.
