And the telco war continues.. this time its the Interconnection issue in Bulacan that started the spark and it blows up like fireball ending up with both telcos defending their own sides.

We loved it when McDonalds opens a branch in the nearest mall right? But we loved it more when Jollibee opens right across the street! This gave option to the kids where to buy their favorite burger!

But not in the case of local telcos… two days ago there was another episode of pointing fingers between PLDT and Globe. I guess PLDT scored one big punch here when Mr. Mon Isberto, Public Affairs Head of the PLDT Group tweeted and I quote “I think Globe should spend less time blaming the rest of the world and just fix their problems for the sake of their customers” endquote. That is Mon Isberto’s personal twitter account.

The official twitter of Globe @talk2GLOBE catches the tweet of Mon, and replied “@monisberto Hi Mon. We are here to help. Please DM us details of your concern so we can assist you asap. Thank you 🙂“, the guys manning the Globe twitter did not research a bit, a little Google perhaps would have helped them before they tried to assist Mon.

Twitter War: PLDT vs Globe

To make this story fair, we are posting both press release of Globe and PLDT about this issue.

PLDT PRESS RELEASE
28 February 2013
Globe technicians have confirmed and also tested by PLDT technical team early this morning that Globe experienced a fiber optic cable break in its transport facilities that caused their interconnection problems to PLDT North Luzon networks. PLDT has actually requested for a joint testing with Globe as early as 4:00 pm yesterday (Feb. 27) but their representatives never came until 2:00 pm today after they have fixed their fiber optic cable trouble. If Globe was really interested in resolving their problems, we wondered why they didn’t come for a joint testing immediately. As indicated earlier, the PLDT network in Northern Luzon is operating normally, contrary to an erroneous advisory issued by Globe to its subscribers yesterday. Other providers such as BayanTel and Digitel are not experiencing any trouble in the same interconnection gateway facility. This indicates that the interconnection problems in Northern Luzon being experienced by Globe are apparently due to problems in Globe’s network and transmission facilities.

Globe is trying to pass the buck. They are blaming us and the rest of the world, everbody except themselves, for their poor service….PLDT’s interconnection links with Globe are functioning properly. Whatever problems Globe is encountering comes from their own network,” said PLDT Spokesman Ramon Isberto. – [SOURCE]

GLOBE PRESS RELEASE
On February 25, 2013 at around 8:00PM, the local interconnection with PLDT in Bulacan was monitored to be out-of-service. This was relayed immediately to PLDT as initial investigation showed it was due to unavailability of Signaling Link. PLDT team advised us that they will look into the problem and perform a reset if necessary. Since 2012, the POIs with PLDT always experienced problems on the signaling link at PLDT side which necessitates them to perform a reset of the said signaling links.

By February 26, 2013 at around 12:00PM, other North Luzon local interconnections with PLDT (La Union, Baguio, Tarlac, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija) also went out-of-service, again due to the unavailability of signaling links. This was likewise escalated to PLDT for their investigation and rectification. PLDT informed us that they forwarded the concern to their technical teams and will update Globe accordingly.

On the morning of Feb 27, the local POIs were still out-of-service and PLDT has still not given any reason for it. Given the amount of time and the inconvenience to our own customers, it was necessary for us to issue a public advisory to inform our subscribers.

We urge PLDT to take public interest at heart and to solve the problem expeditiously to prevent further inconvenience to customers. All transmission facilities of Globe are working in peak condition especially in light of our network modernization program. [SOURCE]
