The same company that started Grab Taxi and Grab Car, the country’s leading transportation mobile app, has finally launched Grab Express.
GrabExpress is a courier service that transport your gifts, documents, letters, or anything that has not more than P2,000-value package. It is a convenient, reliable and safe on-demand delivery service perfect for personal use or for small medium businesses.
GrabExpress uses the same app as the Grab Taxi or Grab Car app, which is downloadable for free from Google Play, Apple App Store or Blackberry store.
“We’ve been testing the beta version of GrabExpress these past few months and we are now confident that it can provide a hassle-free and affordable delivery service for everyone’s personal or business needs. With GrabExpress, the GrabTaxi app provides not only an innovative way of moving people but also of things. When GrabExpress was conceptualized, the first customers we had in mind were the small businesses that we could help. As a tech company, we want to enable e-commerce and broaden the reach of these startup businesses.” said GrabExpress head, Angeline Tham.
What items can we send through GrabExpress?
First things first: You have to download the Grab Taxi app in your smartphone to use GrabExpress service.
With just few taps on your smartphone, you can send documents, parcels, gifts, and more to your loved ones or clients. You even ask the rider to purchase items under P1,000 for your like popcorn and coffee.
If you are a small business, you can partner with them to deliver your products to your customers like clothes, juices, or phone accessories.
It is an on-demand delivery service where the rider comes to you immediately upon booking confirmation, picks up the package, and then deliver it right away to your recipient.
How big should be the package should be?
GrabExpress can only allow packages that are less than five kilograms with dimensions not exceeding 28 x 32 x 12 centimeters.
Service areas of GrabExpress
Currently, GrabExpress serve portion of Metro Manila from 8AM until 8PM in Alabang, Makati, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Pasig, Pateros, Pasay, Paranaque, San Juan, Taguig, and Quezon City districts 1, 3, 4 and 6.
How to use GrabExpress
Grab Express clarified to Tech Patrol News some questions like how many packages can a rider accept per transaction? According to Kriz Lim, Grab Taxi Marketing Manager, it can accept minimal items only as the rider can only carry so much.
A Facebook follower asked if a rider will deliver the item if the recipient’s address is on the 36th floor or penthouse? Will the rider ask the recipient to go down to the lobby or park his motorcycle first and deliver the items to the address? GrabExpress clarified that the rider will deliver the goods to the recipients address.
Can we deliver multiple items? Yes and no. Yes, if it is addressed to just one recipient. No, if it will be delivered in multiple recipients. In the case of the latter, you have book another rider.
Is my item secured? What happens if my item gets lost along the way? GrabExpress told Tech Patrol news that every item you sent comes with an insurance. Currently, they have Malayan Insurance to serve this purpose.
GrabExpress, just like Grab Taxi or Grab Car can be your part-time or full-time business. You can apply as a rider and earn from it.
