We had a quickie with a new kid in town. This Chinese smartphone brand is selling through Lazada and other online channels. Currently, there is a local distributor handling the sales of the devices. We are talking about Infinix and we had a hands-on with Infinix Hot S.
The name is suggesting that this device is indeed hot.
The Infinix Hot S is a sleek device having 5.2-Inch IPS Full HD display (1920 x 1080). It has microUSB at the bottom for charging and file transfer purposes. A 3G of RAM is complemented by a 16G internal storage that can be maxed out with 128G of microSD support.
In terms of camera, the Infinix Hot S has 13 MP w/ AF and dual LED flash while the front shooter has 8MP and is armed with 1.4Ultrapixel technology.
What’s powering this device is a 64Bit 1.3 GHz 64 Bit MT6753 octa core processor.
The battery, which is non-removable and still uses the standard charging time has 3,000mAH. Additionally, the device comes with the security feature that is becoming a standard in today’s smartphone, it has a fingerprint scanner.
First Impressions
We’ve seen the local brand level up in terms of design and software (UI) of their devices. What knocks them out is this kind of brand that invests in the build quality of their device. The Infinix Hot S for example is one only among the several models they already have in the marketplace.
If you remove the branding of the Infinix Hot S, judging it from the build quality and the UI, and knowing that the price is Sub P7k only. I am sure you will buy one immediately and forget about the local brands.
The Infinix Hot S has a metal body that exudes elegant design.
In terms of display we’ve seen a clear and crisp display without viewing angle issues with this 5.2-inch device. The black front slightly hides the bezel which is unnoticeable when don’t scrutinize thoroughly.
