Speed Booster: Turn your Canon M Series camera into full-frame with this adapter

Above Article Content Ad

Because the Canon M series has a limited number of lenses, there are adapters out in the market that can help Canon users use their EF and EF-S lenses on the mirrorless camera. One of them is the Viltrox Speed Booster. An affordable adapter which is available both locally (Philippines) and abroad via online shopping stores like Lazada and Shopee.

Let me make “kwento” first, this just quick.

I decided to change my camera system after two (2) years of using the Lumix GX8. I have no problem with it, I just need some change in the way I deliver content, both for this blog and for YouTube (and Facebook as well).

This year, I want to start talking to the camera, aka Vlogging.

I bought a Canon EOS M50 with a kit lens. But I think I want more, I want to use my Canon EF 50mm F/1.8. I still want to achieve that blurry backgrounds on my subjects.

Then I came across this affordable adapter. The Viltrox EF – EOS M2. This version will let you use your EF and EF-S lenses on the Canon M series cameras. It has 0.71X focal length multiplier.

Initial Verdict

The adapter is sturdy and made up of metal.  I did a quick test using the EF 50mm F/1.8 and it worked. Also, the F/1.8 aperture has been adjusted to F/1.4.

Price is also reasonable and affordable (compared to the Metabones).

PS: I bought my Viltrox EF-EOS M2 adapter from Raz Gadget Center. They have store in Lazada and on Facebook.
