Kickstart by Globe event with an Internet legend and a Fil-Am app creator

Globe Telecoms, one of the countries largest telecommunications company and with the assistance from of U.S. Embassy once again held another one of their Kickstart leg event last August 2, 2012 at Ayala Tower 1 in Makati. The difference from the other event was this time its accompanied by Garrett Gee the person behind Scan and Joe Ziegler from Amazon Web Services.

The place was jampacked with people from the technopreneur industry, media and well from the U.S. of course since its partly promoted by the U.S. Embassy. The event was kind of a speed dating, getting to know, and like a “whats your idea, lets talk about it” process since people who attended are those technopreneurs who has this plan in business and wanted to start up, well that’s basically the goal of Kickstart in the first place, to fund, mentor, educate those people who has an idea and put it into place, support and make those idea into a reality.

Garrett Gee was the highlight of the event since he’s the founder of Scan, one of the most downloaded app in iOS and Android and mind you, Garrett is a half Filipino, her mother is a Filipina. Another speaker is Joe Ziegler which an Internet legend since he’s one of the pioneers of Netscape, the browser who started it all and now he’s a part of Amazon Web Services.

The place was cozy, there were a lot of people from all walks of life, and a lot of food of since its sponsored by Globe and of course we get to meet also Minette Navarrete the person behind Kickstart who talked about the plan and its goals.
