A new team at Globe has been working silently until they revealed recently that they are already implementing their first project in the government.
Globe eGov is a systems integrator by nature, it is headed by Sr. Vice President Jesus “Boboy” Romero. Their first project is under Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service which is the PhilGeps (Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System). The ABC set for this project is Php124 millions and Globe eGov is already on this phase 1 implementation of the project.
Romero said that his team will mainly engage government ICT-related projects but will only choose those that they can manage in terms of speed of delivery and most of all deliver successful projects.
Globe eGov has partnered with Freebalance, a global provider of software solutions for public financial management. A joint venture is required by the government in case there are solutions or systems that cannot be carried out by the local bidder. This is allowed by the PH law.
Aside from PhilGeps, Globe eGov is eyeing three more big projects totaling P3 billion ABC (approved budget of contract). They are joining BOC project worth Php 800 M, another DBM project worth Php 2.1 B, and in BIR worth USD 19 M.
Romero also shared that Globe’s chief Ernest Cu has clear marching order to his 100-man team: Don’t just win bids in the government, deliver successful projects.
