Today marks another milestone for Globe Telecoms as they unveil a new service in their roaming menu. The first-ever LTE roaming is made available by Globe with partnership with Hongkong’s China Mobile.
LTE which offers a lightning-speed internet access that promises you to download up to 42Mbps will be to be experienced now by subscribers roaming in Hongkong. Globe added that countries like Korea will follow immediately with their partnership with SK Telecom.

“We are pleased to be the first operator to launch the LTE data roaming service with Globe in Hong Kong. We look forward to Globe subscribers travelling in Hong Kong to roam with us and enjoy our superb high-speed 4G LTE network,” said Sean Lea, Director and CEO of China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited, a partner of Globe since 1988.
Globe is also working with other IPX partners such as Sybase, Aicent, Syniverse, Citic, Tata and BICs to allow scaling up of LTE roaming partnerships with operations in Australia, Singapore, US, Japan, Canada and the Middle East.
Globe offers USD10/day for an unlimited LTE access in Honkong.
