In recent media event, Huawei Philippines via its Enterprise Team headed by Toby Castillo as the Sales Director signed a partnership with La Salle Green Hills.

Present in the contract signing were La Salle Greenshills were Mr. Jun Lozada, which the current ICT Consultant at La Salle Green Hills, Br. Felipe Belleza, FSC, (President, La Salle Green Hills, Richard Yang, Country Manager, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technologies Phils., Toby Castillo (Sales Director, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technologies Phils, and Br. Manny Hilado,FSC, Program Director at La Salle Green Hills.
The partnership will further bring a future-grade infrastructure of 10-Gigabit network starting from there core switch down to the wireless access points that will be utilized by the La Salle Green Hills students.
It is known that Mr. Jun Lozada after being assisted and kept by the brothers in La Salle during his expose of the the overpriced $329-million National Broadband Network (NBN) deal have helped the school in digitizing the books carried by the students everyday. He introduced a program that will transform the old-school style of carrying lots of books into an electronic books that can be loaded to any available tablet in the market today.
To further improve the school’s (computer) network infrastructure, Huawei Philippines have partnered with the schools offering them programs like transfer of technology, tech updates among others.

La Salle Green Hills state-of-the-art and innovative approach of educating their students will be powered by Huawei now, at least on their network side. A whooping 10-Gigabit network will make wireless browsing so fast. It was mentioned by Engr. Lozada that their one major concern was the Wi-Fi infrastructure needed to support a school-wide wireless environment. He stated that the current wireless architecture would not suffice to support the projected bandwidth needed and would need to be redesigned.
It was mentioned in the press briefing that by far this is the first biggest deployment of Huawei in an academic industry. But, Huawei PH Sales Director Toby Castillo declined to disclose the amount of project they closed with the school. Go figure this, the infrastructure will include a fresh core switch, probably a couple of distribution switches and 200+ AP’s.
Castillo added that they are already talking to big universities like Ateneo and UP to have a similar program like what they offered to La Salle Green Hills.
The La Salle Green Hills network upgrade will be implemented by MicroBase Incorporated headed by Willy Dy, the VP for Operations.
