Intel PH wraps up Sing to Win II; welcomes new CM

Intel Philippines yesterday crowned student Shobert Hallig the online contest winner of Sing to Win 2, the campus edition of Intel’s music video-making contest in 2011. Hallig, a college senior pursuing a degree in Multimedia Arts at Asia Pacific College, scored high marks for his video rendition of Aerosmith’s hit single I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.

In second place is a group from De La Salle University – Dasmarinas composed of Nikki Mae Ilagan, Florabel Hernandez, Leonahlyn Drilon and Stephanie Deuda for their unique take on Trisha Yearwood’s How do I Live, followed by Polytechnic University of the Philippines student Felicidad Olituquit in third for her rendition of Maroon 5 hit Moves Like Jagger. The finalists beat over 80 other hopefuls in the online contest, and each took home Intel-inspired Ultrabooks powered by the latest generation of Intel Core processors.

Sing to Win’s greatest achievement and discovery is Lola Biritera Felicitas Garcia, who became a viral superstar after her run in one of the Intel roadshows last year. “Lola Biritera reached audiences across the country and beyond. She is a shining example of the talent we aimed to discover at the very start of our campaign,” he added. Lola Biritera has been seen and heard in several media outfits for her explosive rendition of Aegis classic Halik.

Intel also took the campaign to 10 universities and 3 major malls nationwide, giving SM mall goers and young collegians from De La Salle University, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Malayan Colleges Laguna, Adamson University, Holy Angel University, De La Salle University Dasmarinas, Our Lady of Fatima, University of Santo Tomas and Centro Escolar University, a chance to experience the next wave of computing innovation through interactive roadshows.

Each roadshow offered participants the tools and technology they needed to express their creativity and style through video recording and editing. Out of the 500 entries submitted, the most creative and entertaining videos were awarded a new Intel-powered notebook.

With the roll-out of the campaign, Intel also announced its partnership with GMA7, as it signed on young celebrities Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes as its campaign ambassadors.

The party last night was also the perfect timing to introduce the incoming Intel PH CM as Ricky Banaag will step down by the end of April as Intel’s chief for sixteen years.
