The Voice judge Sara Geronimo is OPPO’s first celebrity endorser.
OPPO Philippines introduced Geronimo at the launch of the OPPO Mirror 5 at the SM Mall of Asia on August 13 with the title of the event called Spark of Brilliance.
Geronimo’s fans camped at the atrium of SM MOA in anticipation of their idol who did not fail them by waving to them and greeting them from the stage.
I admit that OPPO’s smartphones are getting more gorgeous as they continue to introduce new models. The last smartphone we reviewed at Tech Patrol News was the OPPO R1X. When I saw the stock photos of the Mirror 5 I was wowed, and true enough, the smartphone is sexy!
I also noticed that OPPO had already adjusted their pricing for the Philippine market. Remember when they launched their first batch of smartphones two years ago, they were pretty over-priced.
OPPO Mirror 5 retails for only P9,990. A price that anybody who has a regular day job will allocate budget.
OPPO Mirror 5 has the same back cover design as the R1X, you will appreciate this better with the blue color. OPPO calls it as “Sparkling Diamond-like Mirrored Surface”.
OPPO Mirror 5 has a 5-inch display with 960 by 540 pixels TFT type screen, it is powered by MSM8916 Quad-core 1.2GHz, has 2G RAM, 16G internal storage with micro-SD slot for additional external storage of up to 128G.

Android 5.1 Lollipop is on board but on top of it is OPPO’s own updated UI ColorOS 2.1.
The camera of OPPO Mirror 5 has 8MP at the back and 5MP in front.
OPPO Mirror 5 is very thin at 7.65 mm and weighs 160 grams with 2,420mAh Li-polymer Battery built-in battery.
One special feature Mirror 5 has is the IR blaster that is usually enabled only with a high end models. With the IR blaster, Mirror 5 has a pre-installed remote control app that lets you control home appliances including TV, Air conditioner, player and more.
