Introducing DA-E550, an entry level Samsung Wireless Audio with Dock

Samsung PH recently launched wireless docking stations intended for the Galaxy devices and also for the iDevices. It has dual dock which can be used for playing audio from iPhones and iPods and most of all for the Galaxy devices.

What it does is it plays your music via bluetooth. Turning on the wireless audio will turn on its bluetooth and you can pair any media player that has bluetooth and start streaming your audio in it. Pretty cool isn’t it?

Oh, so that you are not confused, the wireless audio with dock can two function – dock your device or stream it via bluetooth. I have using it alternately via my Macbook Air or my Galaxy S3 for playing music, and it works fine. And if your media player has no blueetooth, you can still play your music via a 3.5mm audio input. Just get a 3.5mm audio cable and you are done.

Yesterday, I had visitors and they insisted to play what on their iPod playlist rather what I was playing. So, I just turned off the bluetooth from my MBA and told them to play their music by pairing their bluetooth first to the DA-E550. They were amazed! No wires needed.

If you decide to dock your Galaxy device, its alright, it will also charge your phone at the same time. But, you have to download the Samsung Wireless Apps from Google Play for it to function.

Samsung DA-E550 is the entry level wireless docking station of Samsung, its SRP is P7,9990.

DA-E550 Specs:

  • 10W
  • 2Channel
  • Dual Docking
  • Phase plug type speakers
  • Blueetooth

Samsung released four models of the wireless audio with dock – DA-E550 (P7,990), DA-E570 (P7,990) – same specs as E550, only the form factor is different, DA-E650 (P12,990), and the high-end model DA-E750 which has a vacuum tube feature (P29,990).

I am impressed with the performance of the DA-E550, while it does not play high performance audio playback and lacks base, for its price, I have no complain. Anyway I don’t play very loud music in my room. What I like about it is I can play wirelessly – I have tried playing from my iPad2, from my Galaxy S3 and from my Macbook Air. And like I said, a visitor played her songs from her iPhone with no issue of configuration and setting it up.

Samsung Wireless Audio with Dock are compatible with Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Player, iPhone, iPad, and iPod. If you ask if iPhone 5 is compatible? Yes it would be – via bluetooth.

Three ways how to play your music with Samsung DA-E550

  1. Dock your device (for Galaxy device, you have to download the App)
  2. Bluetooth
  3. 3.5mm Audio input

Disclosure: I won this DA-E550 from a raffle during the Samsung event.
