Samsung NX2000 was announced in May this year. It is under the NX family and its mirrorless, boasting with 20.3Megapixels APS-C CMOS censor, high speed shooting at 8fps (frames per second), 100 to 25,600 ISO, records 1080P full HD movie with stereo recording.

NX 2000 has 3.7-inch wide LCD touch screen, if you recall, Samsung has already several digital cameras with touch screen LCD’s, the Galaxy Camera is one of them, it has even an Android OS. But before the Galaxy Camera, we had here at DigitalSpidey.com the Samsung DV300F. The screen has a similar look and feel like the Galaxy Camera. It has the typical Samsung camera menu, but the Pro will love the manual setting. We took it for quick photo shoot earlier and I was impressed with the result. We will share one or two images taken by the NX2000 later.
In box, you will find the camera body, the kit lens, a 20-50mm f3.5-5.6, the external cute little flash, battery and micro-SD are already pre-loaded in the body, no more external charger is included, the micro-SD port serves both for downloading photos and charging as well.
Complete set of unboxing photos is in our Flickr account, or click here.
Samsung NX2000 is available in color black, white and pink. Although we like white for a gadget, the white version of NX2000 will sure collect dirt immediately, specially the strap. NX2000 has a new image engine called DRIMe IV which makes it shoot faster, lesser noise in the images it captures, and better color reproduction.
The buttons are simple and within few minutes of playing around with you, I got used to it immediately. There are lesser physically buttons, thanks to the touch screen innovation, most of the menu and command you need will be found in the touch screen LCD.
The NX2000 hot shoe, the mounting point on the top of a camera where you attach a flash unit is a standard one, meaning you can attach other third party flash, or you can use a flash trigger if you want to use strobes.
Here’s one sample photo we took with external third party flash, I attached a trigger and we got this beautiful photo.
The result was awesome! It is comparable to my Canon EOS 7D! Well at least in these still images captured with my lighting setup. But I’m happy with the color and sharpness of the image.
We have two weeks to play around with it, use it in our coverage, and I will also use it in our shoot with strobe lights.
