Smart urges customers to double-check URLs before clicking to avoid getting scammed
Smart Communications, Inc. warns customers to double-check links that are included in unsolicited SMS, even those supposedly coming from the network itself. Smart reminds its customers that its legitimate domain is https://www.smart.com.ph and any other iteration is fake. Smart also reiterates that its official domain ends with ‘.com.ph’.

Smart recently denied ownership of the domain ‘smart-com-ph’ that was used in a fake ‘rewards’ text scam. Scammers utilized this fake domain to deceive victims into visiting a counterfeit website resembling the Smart website, where they stole sensitive information. To combat this, Smart has blocked the phishing domain and other similar domains from its network.
Furthermore, Smart wants to remind customers that rewards points can only be redeemed through the Smart App. They also emphasize that they will never ask for credit card information or require payment to redeem rewards points.
PLDT and Smart have taken significant measures to protect customers from scammers. In the first four months of this year, the PLDT Group has successfully prevented over 16 million SMShing messages from reaching customers. Additionally, Smart has blacklisted more than 333,000 mobile numbers associated with scams and phishing activities from its network during the same period.
