We were curious as to what smartphones are really performing well in the country’s top eCommerce site and we thought of publishing the Top 20 smartphones in Lazada, at least in the last 30 days.
We’ve seen a mix of brands in Lazada, some are foreign brands, some are barely new China label and the local make are not to be left out, too.
Now it is time to reveal them and you will be surprised of this listing because we had the same feelings. We thought that the China brands are actually overtaking the local brands.
The top 20 best-selling smartphones on May 2016
The mix is composed of both international and local brands. The foreign brands with local presence were successful in pushing their products in the eCommerce space. The local make surprisingly had a huge share in this latest data from Lazada.
Foreign brands who made it to the list include Lenovo and Asus. The former foreign and just became a local and independent brand Flash made it to the list and actually it is by far, selling like hotcake, we were told.
Local brand is shared by Cherry Mobile, MyPhone, SKK, Cloudfone, and Firefly.

What happened to the China brands?
The list is dominated by the local brands. We’ve spotted several Cherry Mobile and Firefly SKU’s and likewise Cloudfone and MyPhone.
There are at least three Firefly smartphones in the list, while Cloudfone has only one and it is their sub-P2k SKU.
Cherry Mobile topped the list having six (6) of their long list of smartphones. Their best-selling model is the Lazada-only brand which is the Cubix Cube 3.
On the foreign brands, Alcatel, Lenovo and Asus are competing but we’ve noted Asus with the most number of SKU’s in the list.
