It is Black Friday again and in the US this is something that most people look forward to. While we are not in the US, Globe has made a wonderful means of allowing us to shop online with their partnership with American Express virtual card.

I was out the whole day today for the regular tech coverage, so as soon as I got home I checked my GCASH account using the GCASH mobile app that can be downloaded from Google Play (I’m an Android user, there is also a version for iOS).
I verified all my information I provided to GCASH.
The next step I did was to check my MyShoppingBox (http://www.my-shoppingbox.com/gcashamex/index.php) account. I updated my billing information, my phone number and my delivery address at home.
GCASH AMEX provides your a US Address so that all items you buy in the US will be delivered there. And then MyShoppingBox will deliver your items at your designated delivery address.
The shopping was easy.
Prior to updating my GCASH and MyShoppingBox details, I have already chosen the items I want to buy from Amazon.
I bought three items for my Fujifilm X20 camera. I bought a National Geographic bag NG A1212, a Wasabi battery kit, and a spare battery. Three items that will be shipped to my US address using Amazon’s usual delivery lead time which is 5 to 8 days.
Total cost of these items is about USD 53.46 or about P2,398.22 when converted directly.
I blogged about this shopping experience to share to you how convenient it is to buy items from the US using GCASH AmEX virtual card. Aside from the National Geogrpahic bag which is locally available through online sellers, the Wasabi battery kit and the extra Fujifilm NP50 battery are hard to find items here. I have been looking for those items for several weeks now. So the Black Friday sale is a perfect timing with the help of GCASH.
