Dedication to customer service, improved network quality keys to PLDT Home growth

PLDT Home continues to work toward connecting every Filipino home with fiber and meeting their connectivity needs. This shows how much it cares about its customers.

As of the end of September, PLDT Home had 3.24 million subscribers. Since the end of December 2021, 489 thousand of new fiber subscribers have joined the service. In the first nine months of the year, PLDT also put in 1.29 million fiber ports all over the country and improved customer service channels to make life better for subscribers like Telford Rizarri, a 41-year-old fire safety officer from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

and remains satisfied with the Company’s customer service

Rizarri has been a PLDT customer for 25 years. He signed up for PLDT to help his family communicate. In 2019, he signed up for a PLDT Home fiber plan. In 2020, when the pandemic changed how Filipinos studied and worked, he upgraded to a better plan.

“We were able to use the internet for my son’s classes and my virtual meetings since I work from home twice a week. My parents, who are both 73 years old, also benefited from the service and used it to communicate with my sister in Germany and our relatives and friends,” shared Rizarri.

In September, he emailed PLDT President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio to share his experience and thank the PLDT team for quickly addressing his billing issue.

“I really appreciate the efforts and dedication of the team that helped me with my concern. Hindi po parating perfect ang serbisyo na nae-experience natin, pero salamat kasi they persevered in solving my concerns,” he shared. “We chose to remain loyal to PLDT… ang nasisigurado ko lang, satisfied kami sa customer service ng PLDT,” he added.

This year, PLDT has expanded its digital channels to give its customers easier ways to pay bills, report service problems, track service repair tickets and new applications, and keep track of service interruptions.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) recently held their first-ever nationwide Customer Experience Congress to change the group’s entire workforce and reaffirm their commitment to putting customers at the center of the business.

PLDT keeps updating and expanding its network in places that don’t have it, especially in the regions. At the end of September, PLDT’s total fiber footprint was over 1.09 million kilometers. This included over 231,000 kilometers of international fiber and almost 860,000 kilometers of domestic fiber.

Because of this, the country now has some of the fastest broadband speeds in the area. In Southeast Asia, the Philippines has the fifth-fastest average download speed, according to the latest Speedtest Global Index report from internet analysis company Ookla.
