PLDT Group and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) president and CEO Napoleon L. Nazareno led a team of Smart volunteers in the clean-up and repainting of Tala High School classrooms in Caloocan City, signaling the start of this year’s Brigada Eskwela.
Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school maintenance activity spearheaded by the Department of Education in partnership with the private sector and volunteers to share their time, effort and resources to ensure that public school facilities, particularly classrooms, are ready for the opening of classes. Smart has been supporting this initiative for several years now under the auspices of DepEd’s Adopt-A-School Program.
Nazareno is joined by Caloocan Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Corazon Gonzales; school principal, Dr. Nenita Mercado; Parent-Teachers Association president Delion Banisil; and Smart Public Affairs Group head Ramon Isberto.
