Confession: I am not a gamer. Correction: I was not a gamer.

Of course, I did play with the PSP and the PlayStation in the past with my kids but, candidly, I was not into serious gaming.

But when Sony Philippines recently launched its hottest, most powerful ever PlayStation 4 or PS4, dubbed as “the most awaited game console of 2014,” this “no gamer” got converted big time! (The launch at the Glorietta Activity Center was held in partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Singapore Branch.)

Who wouldn’t be?

With its Personal 3D Viewer and the PlayStation Camera, I am no longer just playing a game. I can fight together with (and against) my friends. We can win together and triumph together. In short, I am IN the game. That’s truly a new, immersive gaming experience!

Sony crafted the PS4 after the gamers’ and developers’ hearts. Simply put, it was “gamer focused” and “developer inspired.” Equivalent to a gamer’s selfie, he can even share his epic moments to the gaming community via the social networks with the SHARE button on the PS4 Wireless Controller or DUALSHOCK 4. (For those who want to make fashion statements, the controller comes in in-your-face colors such as “Magma Red” and “Wave Blue.”)

Other than its improved analog sticks and trigger buttons plus built-in speakers and stereo headset jack, the controller also has the new Multi-Touch and Clickable Touch Pad, 3 LEDs inside its Light Bar and Six-Axis Sensor.

Talk about being socially inclined and shared game experience! Just watching the demo playing with the AR Robots made me feel like a child again!

Sony also unveiled the latest, streamlined PS Vita system with an 1GB internal memory card. It is 20-percent slimmer and 15-percent lighter than the original version, taking portable entertainment system to a higher level.

Like a proud father, Yasushi Asaoka, President and Managing Director of Sony Philippines, beamed, “Sony has always been in touch with what the gaming community needs and wants. We have always strived to give consumers the best experience in home entertainment. It is with great pride that we bring the newest PlayStation 4 in the market today.”

I can’t wait to get into serious gaming with the PlayStation 4! With the PS4, I get to “Play the Future First.”
