The sucessor of the PowerShot G1 X has the same compact camera body with 1.5-inch type CMOS sensor, has 12.8MP, tilt and touchscreen LCD and optional electronic viewfinder (EVF). Features NFC connectivity so that a smartphone can be used as a remote control.
Sensor of the G1 X Mark 2 is 4.5x larger than the existing 1/1.7-inch type sensors in other compact cameras. Lens has 5x zoom, which is equivalent to 24-120mm with a dynamic aperture of f/2.0 to 3.9. Minimum focal distance is 5cm and it also features the latest 9-blate aperture diaphragm that achieves a real nice bokeh effect on the subject. It also uses DIGIC 5 imaging processor.
“It features the best we have to offer among all our compact cameras, delivering unparalleled superior images to that of an interchangeable lens camera,” said Joseph Vincent Sanchez, Imaging Communications Products Division Head.
Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark 2 was launched in the Philippines together with PowerShot SX700 HS, PowerShot D30, Ixus 155, and Ixus 145.
Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark 2 will be available in Q2 with more or less P29,000 SRP.
