A new memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and ePLDT Inc., PLDT Enterprise’s ICT division, intends to aid enterprises in improving their cyber security skills through a lecture series called “Into the Cyberverse.”
Business organizations are urged to take part in and benefit from these thought-leadership seminars that will include cyber security experts, industry professionals, and academics offering their thoughts on cyber risks and risk reduction thanks to this strategic cooperation.
PLDT Enterprise FVP and Head of Enterprise Digital Solutions and Business Consulting John Gonzales, VP and Head of ICT Product Management Amil Azurin, and Assistant were all present when the MOU was signed. Benedicto Perez, vice president and head of customer relationship management for FMCG, logistics, and education
Jikyeong Kang, associate dean Michelle Antero, and Bernardino Jiao, executive managing director of the alumni relations office for AIM, served as the organization’s representatives.
As part of their objective to maintain the expansion of Asian enterprises and societies, Dr. Kang emphasized AIM’s engagement in creating programs that are sensitive to the difficulties of the quickly changing business environment.
“As an institution that promotes the growth of businesses, AIM has been actively empowering companies through information dissemination drives on specific issues faced by the industry today. We are delighted to kickstart another initiative with ePLDT and we hope to equip many local enterprises so that they can better achieve their visions for their business,” said Dr. Kang.
Gonzales also pointed out that the partnership is important for reducing the dangers of cyber security events among businesses, which have grown in recent years.
“Cyber security is an important facet of every organization which should not be ignored, nor be compromised. Through this collaboration with the Asian Institution of Management, we will be able to educate companies on how they can fortify their cyber security capabilities to help them easily predict, manage, and respond to breaches or any cyberattacks,” said Gonzales.
In addition, AIM Associate Dean Antero said that as part of their collaboration with ePLDT, they are developing more initiatives that will increase cyber security awareness among professionals in the nation.
An innovator in management education in Asia is the Asian Institute of Management (AIM). A group of eminent businessmen, Philippine academic institutions, and the Harvard Business School created it in 1968.
AIM and PLDT-Smart have teamed together to provide a Cyber Security Executive Course in 2020 to assist businesses in managing security risks. Companies from many industries took part in the program, which was created for professionals who handle difficulties at the operational level.
Amil Azurin, VP and Head of ICT Product Management, further stated that ePLDT would continue to participate in programs to train businesses on how they may improve their company operations through technology as the leading enabler of digital solutions in the nation.
The “Into the Cyberverse” lecture series’ first salvo will be delivered via Zoom video conference on July 7.
