Finally, a universal charger is approved

Finally. A Universal, standard charger to all mobile devices have been approved. But, hold on a second, most manufacturers have agreed to this standardization but not yet for the guys at Apple. 🙂

Initial companies who have committed to the standardization are Telecom Italia, France Telecom-Orange, China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR), Research In Motion, Swisscom, Belgacom, AT&T, Telefónica, TDC, Huawei, Telia Sonera and A1 Telekom Austria have already committed already to the standardization.

So expect that by 2012, that’s next year most mobile devices will have to use a standard charger already. You don’t need to borrow charger from your officemate or no need for you to bring more than two chargers when you travel.
