Kata M2 Unboxing and First Impressions

And we got the latest flagship from Kata Digital today, the M2.

The successor of the limited edition M1. Check our review of the Kata M1 here. The second generation is stripped down model, a little-bit smaller than M1. Battery capacity got smaller also.

Unboxed

Packaged on a white box with the photo of the M2 printed on the top, the smartphone in white color comes with the standard accessories inside — white microUSB cable, charger, headset, removable battery, and the manual.

Kata M2 has 5.5” Super HD Display which is best for your movie playbacks and HD games. It is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad Core MTK 6582 processor and 1G of RAM.

The back cover has carbon fiber finish which eliminates finger prints.

M2 has dual-SIM, SIM 1 uses a micro-SIM and SIM 2 uses regular SIM. The SIM slot is located side by side with the microSD slot for additional storage requirement.

All the ports and buttons are now located on top of the phone — micro USB and 3.5mm audio ports are on top, while the volume rocker and power button are located on the right side.

Out of the box, M2 is already running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. With our initial Antutu benchmark M2 got 15,660. (M1 Antutu is 15,189). It has 16G internal storage plus 5G cloud storage from Kata Cloud, you can also add 32G of additional external storage using microSD.
