KPMG in the Philippines spotlights next-generation of tech experts

Evidently, emerging technology professionals had a big influence on the recently concluded KPMG in the Philippines Innovation Summit, “Tech Horizons: Unleashing the Future of Innovation.”

While KPMG in the Philippines succeeded in its mission of using technology as a catalyst for advancement, the summit also served as a reminder to industry leaders and tech pioneers of the value of sustainability and responsible technology use, since today’s tech practices will have an impact on future generations of humans.

KPMG in the Philippines Academic Innovation Challenge 2024

Examining the future of innovation necessitated showcasing the next wave of tech leaders, so KPMG in the Philippines organized the first Academic Innovation Challenge (AIC), which brought together student tech experts from fifteen colleges and universities to demonstrate their mastery of data and analytics. The theme of the AIC is “Information is processed data.” Knowledge is processed information. Wisdom is processed knowledge. More than fifty-seven students entered the competition, showcasing their inventiveness and proficiency in data visualization, offering fresh viewpoints enabled by data analytics.

The Trial and Aaron team from the University of the Philippines-Diliman won first place for their outstanding abilities in using analytics to show data. Team members Kline Julienne Vinarao, Jeff Lepardo, and Aaron Lowel Santomin.

Maria Heart La Fuente, Hershey Jone Edralin, and Jerica De Guzman’s team, QWERTY from Far Eastern University Manila, took second place because to their analytical methodology and technological skills. APC JAM from Asia-Pacific College, which included Adan Cabildo, Matthew Aaron Pinlac, and Jasper Daniel Abogado on the team, took third place thanks to the judges’ praise for their accuracy and inventiveness.

Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence

The summit this year kept pushing up-and-coming tech and business leaders to use the revolutionary power of technologies like artificial intelligence to shape a responsible future. Artificial Intelligence has the ability to transform entire sectors and optimize workflows, thereby enhancing corporate operations and competitiveness in a quickly changing digital environment. However, the conference also served as a reminder to attendees that ethical AI development, application, and governance are essential. Businesses may leverage the potential of artificial intelligence while minimizing the risks by stressing transparency and accountability in the AI process.

The Innovation Summit also emphasized the importance of trust and confidence in systems and platforms as technology becomes more interwoven into everyday life. By focusing on cybersecurity and data privacy, users can create a digital ecosystem in which businesses feel safe, secure, and empowered to seize the benefits of the digital age.

KPMG in the Philippines recognized the critical need to reconcile technical advancement with environmental sustainability. The talks also discussed how environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and AI connect in today’s rapidly changing corporate governance context. Participants were motivated to pursue ethical corporate practices in the face of technological breakthroughs after obtaining professional views on how to integrate sustainability into technological adoption.

The Race to Digital Transformation

During the summit, the Digital Transformation Race was likened to a marathon — some participants are just lacing up their shoes, others are confidently striding ahead, and a select few have already broken free from the pack, leading by example. Its success which entails agility, optimization, and innovation has become the guiding light for enterprises worldwide. KPMG in the Philippines’ aim is clear – to provide insight and guidance tailored to meet organizations in whatever stage they are in the race to digital transformation.
