PLDT Home is introducing an innovative service: a hybrid Always On modem. This state-of-the-art modem is among the first globally to automatically transition a customer’s internet connection from fiber to LTE during any outages.

It offers impressive speeds of up to 1 Gbps, while also providing unlimited LTE as a dependable backup option. This ensures a seamless internet experience, even in the event of downtime..

“We call this ‘Always On.’ In the event of a service interruption, you don’t need to worry about losing access to the internet. Even with a severed cable, you will stay connected and pursue your online activities with minimal interruption,” said Jeremiah de la Cruz, Senior Vice President and Head of Home Business Group at PLDT.

When the device detects downtime and switches to LTE, the new Always-On modem will automatically file a service repair ticket. This ensures that customers will no longer need to report a loss of service.

After launching Gigabit Fiber plans that offer up to 10Gbps of speed, PLDT Home is now improving customer service and network reliability, as well as fostering customer loyalty. Home aims to improve customer retention, which in 2023 was already better than industry average.

PLDT has earmarked between P75 billion and P78 billion for capital expenditures this year for mobile, port rollout, data centers and submarine cables.
