After about two years of not having heard from the Chinese brand Xiaomi, they came back thru the opening of a physical store in Quezon City.
Today, Xiaomi Philippines, thru Grimalkin Corporation, the official distributor of the brand has launched two (2) smartphones. To make it more exciting to the Philippine consumer, the brand maintained its low price points as before.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A
The first one, which caters to the mass market, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch display with HD resolution. It is housed in a metallic matte finish and with a unibody design.
Powering the Redmi 5A is a 1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
The shooters included a 13MP a phase detection autofocus and an LED flash. Meanwhile at the front is a 5MP with LED flash as well.
The Redmi 5A will be available by March 15 in Lazada and followed by Shopee. Official SRP is only P4,590. But if you buy on the opening sale, you can get a P200 discount, paying only P4,390.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus
If you a little more budget, you can try the Redmi 5Plus. This one is the company’s first smartphone with 18:9 display, the Redmi 5 Plus has 5.99-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution, that is 2160 x 1080 resolution.
It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, and has Adreno 506 GPU.
There is also a combination of 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM onboard which can be expanded via microSD up to 256G.
The main camera has 12MP f/2.2 PDAF main camera with dual-tone LED flash, 2160p video recording at 30fps. The selfie shooter has 5MP with selfie-light, 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Official SRP of Redmi 5 Plus is only P9,999.
