Smart strengthens partnership with Ultra Mega to boost livelihood opportunities for Filipino MSME’s
In order to increase livelihood prospects for its clients and their ability to load products in their grocery stores, mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has fortified its cooperation with Ultra Mega, one of the nation’s leaders in the wholesale and retail sector.
Interested grocery and sari-sari store owners had the opportunity to visit the Smart exhibit and register as a Smart Ka-Partner load retailer during the two-day Ultra Mega Expo 2024, which was hosted in one of Parañaque City’s most famous hotels. Gia Palafox, Head of Sales and Development at Smart, stated, “Our longstanding partnership with Ultra Mega is a testament to our commitment to help Filipino micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises succeed, especially our grocery and sari-sari store owners who seek digital products like prepaid load to offer their customers and augment their income.”
With more than 38 physical locations nationwide, online marketplaces, smartphone applications, and partner delivery apps, Ultra Mega seeks to give millions of Filipino families and businesses access to affordable, high-quality necessities. Since 2015, Ultra Mega and Smart have been partners, supporting almost 250,000 load retailers and giving Filipinos easy access to connection and communication products and services.
“Smart is a partner whom we deeply value, as they share our goal of consistently elevating our offerings for our loyal customers. Their consistent participation at our milestone events is a testament to their commitment, and has left a lasting impression on our guests,” said Julie Lim, VP for Operations at Ultra Mega.
Since its launch in 2003, smart e-load has been among the best-selling items for sari-sari businesses nationwide. Prepaid services were made possible by the world’s first mobile communication invention, Smart e-load, which gave Filipinos simpler access to mobile communication and made it easier to communicate both domestically and internationally.
A major component of PLDT and Smart’s commitment to closing the digital divide and giving more Filipinos nationwide access to communications is their partnerships with businesses like Ultra Mega. This helps them achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
