Torque’s Chris Uyco: Shenzhen branch, New office building, Sports apparel, and more

Topstrasse, Global Inc., the company behind the local brand Torque Mobile Phones & Tablet launched batch of devices a few days ago.

Aside from launching several devices, the brand also introduced celebrity teen Elisse Joson as the new brand endorser.

Not only the eleven (11) phones were introduced and dubbed as EGO 1.0, but there are four (4) tablets that are ready for purchase by now.

Christopher Uyco, the company’s CEO and President also shared how Torque have been moving leaps and bounds behind the lenses and radar of the media.

Shenzhen branch

As of this month, they have more or less thirty (30) manpower in China just run the operation and R&D for the Torque brand.

This is to make sure every model is carefully designed for each market segment.

The team in Shenzhen also considers the buying capacity of their market back here in the Philippines.

Owned building

For the longest time, Torque Mobile team has been in operation using a rented space in Makati City. Uyco proudly announced that they are moving by November to their new office in Mandaluyong.

Business expansion

Uyco also announced that the Torque brand is expanding by opening other businesses to complement with the smartphone and tablets.

A new sports apparel will be launched in a few months. A school supply business unit is also underway.

Finally, those who can’t go out to malls to buy Torque devices, an online retail store is also brewing.

High-end devices

We asked the young CEO: Why are you not making high-end devices? Uyco smiled and said “We will contact you again within a few weeks.”.

The executive gave us a hint that they will also join the small market segment that has disposable income for high-end devices.
