It seems that Vivo does not rest in what phone announcements are concerned and weeks after making official vivo S1 or vivo X27 and X27 Pro, today is the turn of vivo Y17, a phone in which they say goodbye to their periscope camera feature (for this year) to return to the notch in the form of a drop.
The Vivo Y17 comes with an HD+ screen of 6.39 inches and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. With just edges on the sides, it highlights a sharp lower frame and the notch in the upper area of the screen where the front camera is located. This allows you to take advantage of the space, with a screen-body ratio of 89%, which favors immersion when playing.
Vivo has opted for the colors Mineral Blue and Mystic Purple for this new device. Inspired by the interaction of water and light, the smartphone has a mirror-like finish and color gradient on the back. Right in that area are the three rear cameras located in a vertical module under which is the LED flash. The center space is for the fingerprint sensor.
As for the cameras, the Vivo Y17 mounts a triple configuration with a 13MP main sensor, an 8 MP wide angle and a 2 MP depth camera. The secondary sensor is also equipped with artificial intelligence, extending the vision up to 120 degrees.
Meanwhile, the front camera reaches up to 20 MP dedicated to selfies. It also helps the AI Face Beauty mode able to improve facial features by offering customized solutions for each one.
At the controls of the Vivo Y17 is the Helium P35 processor of 12 nm and up to 2.3 GHz, accompanied by a single option of 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
The game is still an essential part in many phones, hence the brand has opted for the Ultra Game mode capable of allocating system resources to prioritize the performance of the game and that this does not suffer in terms of performance is concerned. It is accompanied by Dual-Turbo to ensure speed and offer a smooth gaming experience.
But if something stands out especially in the Vivo Y17 is its huge 5,000 mAh battery, which guarantees a solid battery life, even in games and videos as claimed by the manufacturer. Added to this is the 18W fast charge and an added security protection system to prevent damage while the phone is charging. As for the operating system, the Vivo Y17 comes with Funtouch OS 9, based on Android 9 Pie.
The phone arrives in India at a price of INR 17,990, or about P13,455 in direct conversion, and it is unknown if it will jump to the international market.
