Alongside the Redmi Note 5 launch, Xiaomi Philippines, also introduced Mi Mix 2s — the company’s latest flagship device.
Here are eight (8) things that you should know about the Mi Mix 2s.
(1) Full HD+ Display, 18:9 aspect ratio
The Mi Mix 2s has full HD+ display, 18:9 aspect ratio without the notch and a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to protect the screen from scratches. This device has 5.99-inch display.
(2) Qualcomm Chipset
Under the hood of the Mi Mix 2s is Snapdragon 845 with octa-core Kryo 385 CPU. It is the same CPU found in the Galaxy S9+. It is also paired with Adreno 630 GPU.
(3) 6GB + 64GB or 6GB + 128 GB
Two variants will be made available — the base model will have a 6GB of RAM and a 64GB of storage, the other has 128GB. Note that there is no micro SD card for storage expansion.
(4) AI-powered cameras
There are two (2) cameras at the back — a 12MP f/1.8 Sony IMX363 + 12MP f/2.4 Samsung S5K3M3 main cameras with dual pixel, dual PDAF, dual-tone dual-LED flash.
The front camera is also equipped with AI technology has 5MP 1.12μm, ƒ/2.0 selfie camera.
The cameras of the Mi Mix 2s has AI Portrait Mode for bokeh effect, and Beautify 4.0 for enhanced photos.
(5) Huge battery with wireless charging feature
There is a 3,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. It also supports Qi wireless charging. There is also a USB Type-C port.
(6) Not included: 3.5mm audio jack, microSD
Xiaomi ditched the 3.5mm audio jack and micro SD support on this device. To enjoy listening to music, there is a free USB Type-C adapter included in the package.
(7) Latest OS
The Mi Mix 2s will ship with MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo 8.
(8) Availability & pricing
The Mi Mix 2s is expected to arrive in stores in the Philippines on June 2018. Expected SRP is P27,990 for the 6GB+64GB and P29,990 for the 6GB+128GB.
