ASUS created a robot called Zenbo

When everybody from the tech beat was expecting gadgets, laptops, drones, smartphones and other devices, ASUS surprised the crowd when a Robot took the stage at the Zenvolution launch.

Zenbo is a personal robot that looks like the offspring of the robot from the computer-animated science-fiction comedy film Wall-E.

Zenbo is designed to be a friendly and capable home robot to give assistance, entertainment, and companionship to all members of the family.

ASUS objective is to address the needs of each family member in this ubiquitous computing era. With a full range of capabilities, including the ability to move independently and understand spoken commands, Zenbo can assist in the home and interact with him is easy and fun.

As a smart assistant, Zenbo can communicate with you in plain English language.

During the quick demo at the Zenvolution, Zenbo can assist a human in the kitchen with a recipe, read a book and interact with the kids.

It can also dial emergency numbers.

Other functions like control home smart appliances, take photos and videos and read bedtime stories with the kids.

A built-in stereo sound system, Zenbo can play children’s songs and can dance too.

Zenbo can be the family’s photographer also with a simple voice command.

Zenbo supports a growing number of custom apps that expand his capabilities and bring new features to users. The free Zenbo Developer Program provides members access to the Zenbo SDK and a library of information they need to bring their creative ideas to life. Additionally, Zenbo Partners can work with ASUS to help build a rich, robotic ecosystem that will enhance Zenbo and enrich users’ lives.

We don’t know if it will be offered commercially in the Philippines, but during the launch, ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih announced that the price of Zenbo is USD599.
