Belkin Car Universal Mount quick review

I am sure you have paraded several times to CD-R King Makati Cinema Square, to buy the most affordable car mount for your smartphone. And you always end up replacing them because either it does not mount well, or three days later it breaks and your P250 is gone.

I feel you.

I was also a victim of this. I already had four (4) and all of them went to the trash bin.

Until the guys from Macpower summoned us. Summoned? No, just kidding. They invited us for a dinner in Bonifacio Global City for a mini meet up where they (re) introduced us to Belkin.

Belkin has been around for a while in the Philippines. MacPower is one of the distributors of their products, but this company is focused on distributing products in the e-Commerce vertical.

But wait, we are not going to talk about MacPower in this post. The spotlight is beamed towards the Belkin Universal Car Mount.

You heard it right, Belkin is a brand that makes wireless networking products and accessories.  They have accessories for iPad, iPhones, charges and cables, cases and wireless routers.

Back to the car mount by Belkin story.

Belkin1During the meetup, I won this item and I thought it was just one of the usual car mount I used to buy.

I was wrong.

Belkin Car Universal Mount is rather tough and as if ready to go to war any time.

This car mount has dual-personality. You can either mount this in your dashboard, or anywhere you want as long as you can find a flat area in your car, or in the mirror.

To mount in in your dashboard, you will have to attach the dashboard adapter that comes free in the package.

I decided to mount mine in the dashboard, I installed the adapter and let it stay there for a whole day before I mounted the holder.

Surprisingly, this one mounts well in the dashboard, and it can hold my 5-inch smartphone. But for demonstration purposes, I mounted my Kata F2.

The mount is sure sturdy. I will have to wait for another week or two and update this post. I will mount it in the mirror to test if it will not detach during extreme hot temperature in the city.

For now, I am a happy end-user. 🙂

If you are interested in buying this product, you can have it purchased online in Lazada. SRP is P1,490.

Here’s how it looks like inside my car.
