FREE WiFi in EDSA Beginning June 12, 2017
Today is the official switching on of the High-Speed Wi-Fi service in EDSA, specifically in MRT stations. Dubbed as “Alay Para sa Malayang Pilipino”, the first few minutes of access is FREE.
Free Wi-Fi is one of the promises made by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in July 2016. – PNA
Smart FREE Wi-Fi: 30 Minutes
If you are a Smart subscriber, just look and connect to the SSID #SmartWifi @MRT EDSA. Connect and enjoy half an hour of high-speed internet.
Now, if you more, you need to buy prepaid credits to enjoy this telco-grade internet speed.
Smart offers Wi-Fi load for P20 for 2 hours valid for two days or P50 for 10 hours valid for 5 days
Globe FREE High-Speed Wi-Fi
If you are a Globe subscriber, you can connect to the SSDI “@GoWiFi” and enjoy the same internet speed.
“We’re paving the way for our customers to avail of a swift and dependable option when connecting to the internet, especially when they are on-the-go,” shares Globe Chief Commercial Officer, Albert de Larrazabal.
Once the free taste expires, Globe also offers the following prepaid services.
For P15, customers can enjoy 500MB worth of data allocation for one day, while P50 lets customers enjoy 1.5GB worth of data allocation for three days. Long-term customers can pay P99 for 1.5GB data allocation for 30 days.
Both Globe and Smart has FREE WiFi access not only in the whole stretch of EDSA but in high-traffic areas such as malls, hospitals, airports, schools, government offices.
Smart calls it Smart Spots while Globe’s branding is GoWiFi.
