FUJIFILM announces the launch of the mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM X-T5” (X-T5).
The X-T5 is the newest member of the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras, which are known for their small, lightweight bodies and high-quality images thanks to the company’s own color reproduction technology.

The X-T5 has fifth-generation devices like the back-illuminated 40.2MP sensor “X-Trans CMOS 5 HR”*2 and the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 5.” It also has advanced features like 5-axis in-body image stabilization of up to 7.0 stops. This is the new standard for still photography because it is both more powerful and easier to move around with.
Improved image quality, ISO125 as a normal sensitivity, the fastest shutter speed of 1/180000 sec, and Pixel Shift Multi-Shot broaden photographic variations. Other capabilities include the Smooth Skin Effect, Subject Detection AF that can detect animals and birds, and AI-based high-precision auto white balance.
The camera’s Center Viewfinder and dial operation are X-T Series hallmarks. A 1.84-million-dot three-way tilting LCD screen makes vertical or waist-level shooting more comfortable. The 557g body is much lighter and more compact than the previous iteration.
The X-T5 will be a wonderful companion for street/documentary photography, where its mobility is a plus, to landscape and portraiture, which demand outstanding image quality. Other features that enhance photo experiences include 10-bit 4:2:2 video at 6.2K/30P, 0.8x viewfinder magnification, 3.69-million-dot EVF, and twin SD-card slots.
Fujifilm X-T5 Features
The 40MP X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR sensor and high-speed X-Processor 5 give the highest image quality and resolving performance in the X Series.
X-T5 has a back-illuminated 40.2MP X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR sensor. An improved image processing approach improves image resolution without sacrificing S/N ratio. Improved pixel structure makes the X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR sensor more light-efficient. ISO125, a formerly optional enhanced ISO level, is now standard. The shutter speed can be set as fast as 1/180000 sec. In more situations, large-aperture lenses can be used wide open.
Pixel Shift Multi-Shot quadruples image quality and offers precise color reproduction, making it excellent for commercial photography and digital archiving. IBIS shifts the image sensor precisely to snap 20 frames with a single shutter click. “Pixel Shift Combiner” processes collected frames to create a 160 million-pixel image.
The Smooth Skin Effect instantly smoothes skin tone, decreasing post-processing workload in portrait photography, etc.
The X-T5 has a Deep Learning-based Auto White Balance. AI has improved the camera’s capacity to automatically set the white balance by recognizing a warm light bulb hue.
The X-T5 has 19 Film Simulation settings, including “Nostalgic Neg.” Film Simulation presets are available for different subject kinds and scenes.
The X-T5 supports HEIF, which gives 10-bit image quality in 30% fewer files than JPEGs. X Series’ next chapter of high-quality out-of-camera results has begun.
Hardware, design for content creators — The X-T5 has 5-axis, 7.0-stop in-body image stabilization. Nightscape photography can be done handed in. IBIS additionally shifts the camera’s image sensor for Pixel Shift Multi-Shot.
AI-based topic detection AF can recognize animals, birds, automobiles, motorcycles, planes, and trains. The device tracks a subject while keeping focus so users can focus on the shutter and framing.
The X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR sensor contains more phase detection pixels than the previous model, improving AF-S focus on high-frequency subjects, such as landscape and portrait photography. Improved AF prediction algorithm allows consistent AF-C focusing.
The X-T5 has settings for ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation. With most XF lenses’ aperture ring, users can inspect and alter camera settings before turning it on. This lets users easily express their photographic objectives on camera actions.
The camera’s 1.84-million-dot tilting LCD is new. It makes shooting vertically or at waist level easier, freeing photographers from many restraints.
The camera has a 3.69-million-dot, 0.8x EVF. The viewfinder suppresses parallax and distortion more than the previous generation, improving visibility.
Evolved IBIS and other parts, including EVF, result in a 557g body. Optimized dials and buttons minimize size and increase use. This, together with the camera’s weather-resistant design, lets customers carry the X-T5 anywhere.
Extended video functions — 6.2K, 30P, 4:2:2 10-bit movies can be recorded internally. X-4K T5’s HQ mode uses 6.2K over-sampling to produce high-quality video while maximizing the sensor’s resolution.
F-Log2 supports X-13+ T5’s stop dynamic range. This range expands post-production potential over F-Log.
The X-RAW T5’s video output can be recorded as 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW*5 at up to 6.2K and 29.97fps with an ATOMOS HDMI device. When paired with Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12Gs, the camera’s RAW video output may be captured in 6.2K and 29.97fps.
