Metrobank named Top Retail Bank in the Philippines by The Asian Banker
Metrobank has been recognized as the Most Recommended Retail Bank in the Philippines by The Asian Banker during the Global Excellence in Retail Finance Awards. The award was based on The Asian Banker’s Annual BankQuality Consumer Survey, which collected feedback from over 12,000 customers in Asia in January 2024. The survey assessed customer engagement and satisfaction with retail financial services institutions, focusing on their experiences with services, channels, and products.
The Asian Banker highlighted Metrobank’s strong reputation for trusted financial services and seamless banking experience, leading to a BankQuality score of 101.48 – the highest among all participating banks in the Philippines and the 6th highest in Asia.
This positive feedback from Metrobank’s clients is further supported by a 2023 study conducted by NielsenIQ, where Metrobank was identified as one of the Top Recommended Banks in the Philippines. In the survey, approximately a thousand respondents were asked about their likelihood of recommending each bank. Metrobank outperformed other major local banks and has maintained this position since 2022.

This film serves as a representation of the countless Filipinos whose journey towards growth and achievement has been supported by the Bank over the past six decades. The stories showcased in the film revolve around Gigi and Andy, a mother-and-son duo who have achieved great success as Metrobank clients.
One of the characters in the film is Mrs. Bueno, a pharmacist, who joyfully celebrates the approval of her business loan by Metrobank. Additionally, there is Charlie, the owner of a chain of computer repair shops that have been modernized to facilitate cashless payments. Lastly, we have Ben, a single delivery van owner who now possesses a brand new fleet of delivery vehicles, all thanks to Metrobank. Furthermore, Sharon, a Relationship Manager from Metrobank, pays a visit to Gigi and Andy’s bakeshop to discuss potential investment opportunities for their family.
