The smartphone brands in the Philippines are now dancing with the music. It seems that they are concentrating their efforts into the midrange category because this is where the budget of the Filipino consumer fits. VIVO Philippines introduced its latest device Wednesday, November 23, 2016, their midrange “perfect selfie” device. Vivo V5 was launched and it comes with 20MP front camera with “softlight” feature.
The Perfect Selfie
Having the same looks from its siblings, VIVO V5 is housed on a slim metal unibody, having premium looks and design, and boasts its 20MP Sony sensor front camera. It is the world’s first smartphone to have a 20MP front camera. To make it even better, VIVO included a “softlight” feature that when turned on adds more light to your “perfect selfie” shot.
VIVO V5 Features
The V5 features 5.5-inch IPS HD display and is protected by 2.5G curved glass. It has dual but hybrid SIM tray with the second slot doubling as mciroSD support for a maximum of 128G external storage. This midrange device has a generous 4GB of RAM and an equally huge internal storage of 32GB.
While the RAM and storage are generous, other features like fast charging and USB Type C are missing. VIVO V5 has 3,000mAH non-removable battery and charging time will take you about three hours.
Never mind the missing features because VIVO PH executives repeatedly told us that the focus of the device is the “perfect selfie” which is delivered by a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor.
The standard camera at the back has 16MP.
The VIVO V5 will be shipped with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with FunTouch OS 2.6 on top of it.
The VIVO V5 also has fingerprint scanner which is accessible through the home button.
