Unbelievable?

Here is the farewell message of HOOQ. Watch.

HOOQ was launched in 2015 by Globe as a streaming service. The streaming service became an independent company which was headed by Peter Bithos.

During the launch five years ago, all content of the streaming service shall be from Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers for international movies, series, and other content.

Sooner, local content will be supplied by ABS-CBN, GMA, Regal Films, and Viva Entertainment.

During the launch, Bithos was still one of the top executives of Globe, but he told Tech Patrol that he would run the show 50/50 — meaning he would still be part of Globe Comms team while he transitions to HOOQ.

On March 15, 2015, Bithos left Globe permanently.

Today, April 29, 2020, the streaming service announced its formal shutdown.

Until its announcement to shut down the service, HOOQ was serving in five countries with almost 80M subscribers.
