Peter Bithos leaves Globe to head HOOQ

At the launch of Globe’s newest streaming service, Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe also announced that Peter Bithos will be the chief executive officer of HOOQ.

HOOQ is the newest subscription service offered by Globe in partnership with HOOQ. Content will be provided by Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers for international movies, series and other content. Local content will be supplied by ABS-CBN, GMA, Regal Films, and Viva Entertainment.

The less than a week company formed HOOQ is headed by Peter Bithos as CEO and Jane Cruz-Walker the country manager for Philippines. HOOQ video streaming service will also launch in countries where Singtel presence is strong to include Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and India.

Peter told Digitalspidey.com that he is currently on fifty-fifty mode He is taking care of the newly-formed company while he is turning over his accountabilities as Globe Chief Operating Advisor.

He will finally step down as Globe executive on March 31, 2015.

Peter joined Globe Telecom in 2010. Prior to his stint with Globe, he was with SingTel Optus for five years in Australia.

Bithos was also CyberPress’ IT Executive of the Year in 2013.
